These 33ft boats have GRP hulls from a mould taken off a 1956 Robb designed 5.5m. They are unique to Cowes, and from a fleet of over 20 active yachts, there are always at least ten boats out racing every Saturday & Sunday from April to October. Class rules control antifouling, scrubbing and new sails. Click here to learn more about this historic class.
I bought this particular boat in 2014, after it had been ashore for several years and then spent a year rebuilding. We raced two seasons before refitting again for 2017 and winning the class in both Classic Week and Cowes Week that year.
The after a few years ashore we launched again and have won the whole 2022 seasons points with an average position better than 2nd with 40 races counted.
